Rocketman movie

Rocketman is a 2019 biographical musical drama film based on the life of musician Elton John. Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, the film stars Taron Egerton as John, alongside Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The film follows John‘s early days as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to his musical partnership with Bernie Taupin.

Rocketman received positive reviews from critics, who praised Egerton‘s performance and the musical numbers. It became the first musical biopic to show male same–sex love scenes, as well as the first to be rated R in the United States by the Motion Picture Association of America. The film grossed $195.5 million worldwide and was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Egerton.

It was also nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Original Song for “I‘m Gonna Love Me Again“.
